What is Work Process (WP)?
An operating-system process on an SAP application server that executes requests of a given type, such as dialog or background.
Types include dialog, background, update, enqueue, and spool. Exhausted work processes cause system hangs, so they are monitored in SM50 and SM66. Load and volume tests should measure work process utilization.
