What is SAP System ID (SID)?

A three-character identifier that uniquely names an SAP system within a landscape, such as DEV or PRD.

The SID appears in transport routes, RFC destinations, and directory paths. Test evidence should record SID and client to show where tests ran. Conflicting SIDs complicate system copies.
