What is Posting Period?
A period of the fiscal year in which postings are allowed, opened and closed through the posting period variant.
Finance controls which periods are open by account type in OB52. Closed periods are a common cause of failed postings in test systems and during cutover. Special periods 13 to 16 are used for year-end adjustments.
