What is Field Status Group?

A setting on a GL account that controls whether fields are suppressed, required, or optional during posting.

Field status groups are defined in a field status variant assigned to a company code. Combined with posting key field status, they determine mandatory entries such as cost center or assignment. Missing required fields are a frequent cause of test-posting errors.
