SAP S/4HANA
What is Compatibility View?
A CDS-based view that replaces an obsolete ECC table name in S/4HANA so legacy SELECT statements still return data.
When S/4HANA removed aggregate tables such as MKPF/MSEG or GLT0, it kept their names as views over the new tables (for example MATDOC or ACDOCA). Reads keep working, but writes to those objects fail and performance can differ. Custom Code Migration checks flag such accesses.
