What is Business Function?
A switchable unit of SAP functionality activated via the Switch Framework; many activations are irreversible.
Business functions are activated in SFW5 and switch on configuration, tables, and code delivered in enhancement packages or industry solutions. Some are reversible, most are not, so activation should be tested in a sandbox first. In conversions, the Readiness Check flags business functions that are not compatible with S/4HANA.
