What is SAP Human Capital Management (HCM)?
SAP's on-premise HR module covering personnel administration, organizational management, time, and payroll.
HCM (formerly HR) stores employee data in infotypes and runs country-specific payroll. In S/4HANA it continues as compatibility scope or as SAP HCM for S/4HANA (H4S4), while SAP's cloud strategy favors SuccessFactors. Payroll testing is usually done through parallel runs against the legacy system.
