What is Infotype?

A logical HCM data group, identified by a four-digit number, such as 0001 Organizational Assignment or 0008 Basic Pay.

Infotypes store time-dependent employee records with validity dates. Payroll and reports read them, so test data needs correct history. Authorization object P_ORGIN restricts access by infotype.
