What is Number Range?
A configured interval that assigns document or master-data numbers internally or accepts externally assigned numbers.
Number range objects control numbering for documents such as FI documents, sales orders, and materials. Intervals that are exhausted or overlap with migrated legacy numbers cause posting failures. Cutover plans must set number range statuses correctly in production.
