What is Model Context Protocol (MCP)?
An open protocol for connecting AI applications to external tools and data sources through standardized servers.
MCP lets an AI assistant call business system APIs, test tools, or documentation through a consistent interface. Several enterprise and testing vendors now offer MCP servers. Access scopes and credentials must be governed like any integration.
