Software that uses an LLM to plan and perform multistep tasks by calling tools and systems with some autonomy.
In ERP contexts, agents may triage incidents, reconcile data, or create and run tests. Joule agents and third-party agent platforms are emerging. Agents need guardrails, permissions, audit trails, and human checkpoints.
