What is Data Masking?
Replacing sensitive values, such as names, bank accounts, or salaries, with realistic but fictitious data in non-production systems.
Masking supports GDPR and internal privacy policies after system refreshes. It must preserve referential integrity across tables and systems. Masked data should still allow valid test results, for example valid IBAN formats.
