SAP defect checklist

• Title: the failure, specific and searchable. One failure per defect.
• Where: system, client, build or transport baseline, user and role, app or transaction.
• Data: customer, product, org units and every document number involved.
• Steps: numbered, minimal, from a known start. Expected result with its source. Actual result with values.
• Messages: copy the message class and number and the long text; attach the screen.
• Severity from the rubric (impact); priority from triage (urgency).
• Ready for retest = fix transport imported into QAS. Closed = retest passed with evidence.
• Link: test run, test case, requirement, fix transport, retest and regression runs.
• Search before logging; settle works-as-designed against an agreed expectation.
