• Check where you are first: system ID and client in the SAP GUI status bar, host name in the launchpad address.
• Never test, demo or experiment in production.
• Can't find an app? Search the App Finder. Not there means a role; there but no tile means personalization.
• Authorization error in SAP GUI: run SU53 straight away and attach it.
• Process error (closed period, block, missing view): fix the data or follow the process, don't request roles.
• Totals look low? Check filters, then your data restrictions.
• Tickets: system, client, app ID or transaction, data, exact message, business reason.
• Never share logons; never ask for super-user access for testing.
• Read the change history before blaming a process; request master data changes from the owner.
• Keep personal data in SAP: no exports to personal files, chat or tickets.
