Week 4 of 12
Build the business process library
Your strategy says how you test. The process library says what. It is the single most reused asset in an SAP program: scope for SIT, scripts for UAT, the regression suite after go-live, and the context AI tools need to generate useful tests.
In the ASUG and Precisely research, business process change was the top S/4HANA barrier, cited by 49%. Every changed process is a new test scenario.
This week: list your top end-to-end processes and rank them
- List end-to-end processes, not transactions: order-to-cash, procure-to-pay, record-to-report, plan-to-produce, plus their variants (returns, intercompany, third-party, consignment).
- For each, note business risk, how often it changes, how often it runs, interfaces involved, and whether it is SOX-relevant.
- Trace every Fit-to-Standard gap and delta to at least one test scenario. A decision with no scenario is a defect waiting to happen.
- Rank the top 20. They become your critical-process list for every exit criterion from now on.
