Week 8 of 8

Quarterly updates, regression and automation

Everything from the last seven weeks meets here. Oracle publishes What’s New weeks before the update (the Financials 26D document was created on 4 September 2026). It rates each feature’s impact and says to focus acceptance testing on the larger-scale ones. Features delivered disabled can be switched on automatically later, when an opt-in expires.

Oracle no longer offers a current test automation tool for Fusion: its Application Testing Suite lost Premier Support in June 2022 and Oracle told non-EBS customers to look elsewhere. So the regression suite, manual or automated, is yours to build and keep.

This week: make the quarterly update a routine

  1. Before the test pod updates: export the feature summary, mark each feature Enabled, Opt-in or Not used, and list opt-in expirations.
  2. Run a fixed core regression of your top 20 processes, plus integrations, roles and key reports, in the first week of the window.
  3. Use the second week for retests, service requests and the business sign-off before production updates on the third Friday.
  4. Automate what runs every quarter and fails expensively: postings, payments, integrations and period-close steps first.
  5. Measure per update: regression cycle time, coverage of critical processes and defects found after production.
