What is Flexfield?
An Oracle extensibility mechanism: key flexfields define structured codes such as the chart of accounts; descriptive flexfields add custom attributes.
The accounting flexfield defines segment structure for GL accounts. Descriptive flexfields capture extra data without code. Changes to flexfields require broad regression testing.
