Landscape check before you test

• System and client: right tier for this test level? (Contoso: QAS client 100 for integration and UAT.)
• Release and baseline: which build or transports are imported? Anything new since the last run?
• Fix retest: is the fix transport imported, not just released? Record its number.
• Data: refresh or migration date; master data and condition records present and current.
• Integrations: real partner test system, stub or switched off? Write it down.
• Users: testing with the real business role, not a broad project user?
• Jobs and periods: required background jobs scheduled; posting period open.
• Different results in two systems? Compare transports, then data, then integrations, then roles.
• Public edition: know the upgrade dates and the regression window; test is upgraded first.
