• Company code 1710 (Contoso Motor Co., US, USD); controlling area A000.
• Plants: 1710 Detroit (storage locations 171A raw materials, 171B finished goods) and 1720 Chicago (172A); both in company code 1710.
• Sales area 1710 / 10 / 00; delivering plants 1710 and 1720; shipping points 1710 and 1720.
• Purchasing organization 1710 for plants 1710 and 1720; purchasing group 001.
• Plant → one company code; storage location → one plant; sales org → one company code.
• Delivering plants are assigned to sales organization + distribution channel.
• State org units explicitly in every test case; do not rely on defaults or parameters.
• On journal entries, check company code, profit center and segment, not just account and amount.
• Keep an org-unit matrix; every production combination is tested or a documented, owned risk.
