Journal entry control card

  • Post General Journal Entries: check company code, posting date (decides the period), journal entry type, currency; simulate before posting.
  • Common types: SA G/L entry, KR supplier invoice, DR customer invoice, AB accounting entry, RV billing, WE goods receipt.
  • Posting keys: 40 debit and 50 credit for G/L lines; the Fiori app sets them from the debit and credit columns.
  • Needs four eyes? Submit through Verify General Journal Entries; the requester cannot approve their own entry.
  • Reverse, never delete: Manage Journal Entries with a reversal reason; reason decides date and negative posting options.
  • Recurring: Manage Recurring Journal Entries for G/L; FBD1 and F.14 for classic recurring documents. They are separate.
  • No ledger group = all ledgers. Use a ledger group only for accounting-principle-specific adjustments.
  • Controls to test: closed period blocks, special periods restricted, tolerance limits enforced, verification enforced.
  • Evidence: journal entry numbers, ledger shown, error message text and number for every blocked posting.
