Migration reconciliation and sign-off card
- Reconcile three levels: count, value, attribute; at each hand-off: source, extract, staging, target.
- Write a reconciliation specification per object: key, dimensions, measures, queries, tolerance, owner.
- Finance: by company code, ledger, currency, G/L account and subledger key; clearing accounts at zero.
- Reconcile each ledger separately and intercompany positions between company codes.
- Automate full comparisons where possible; sample the rest.
- Rule of three: zero errors in n random records means about 95% confidence the error rate is below 3 ÷ n.
- Errors in a sample: fix the cause for everyone and resample.
- Validation packs: inspection plus usability, after reconciliation, rehearsed for go-live weekend.
- Sign-off record: key date, versions, load, reconciliation, validation, open items, decision.
- Conditions need owner, deadline and tracking; unexplained financial differences always block.
