Self-service reporting card

• Pin the question: object, measure, scope, time (which date) and status.
• Operational "which" questions → list report. Analytical "how much" questions → analytical list page or multidimensional report.
• Check the result count before reading rows; zero usually means a filter is too tight.
• Save variants with clear names; use dynamic dates; share public variants for team views.
• In SAP GUI: selection variant for inputs, ALV layout for columns.
• Measures aggregate (amounts, quantities); dimensions group (customer, plant, month).
• Export reconciliation: row count, key total, spot check, then record app, variant, filters and time in the file.
• Large exports: split the selection; never trust a file you have not counted.
• Evidence: run the same variant before and after the test step; compare the difference with the expected change.
• Exports leave SAP's controls: store them in approved places and delete when done.
